Yesterday was fathers day here at Englewood. I preached on the story of David in 1 Samuel 16, when Samuel anointed him as the next King of Israel. His own Dad, Jesse had left him in the field while his seven brothers had a chance to be King. Samuel stepped up and obeyed God by seeing Davids potential even when his dad could not. Our day yesterday centered around the idea of being spiritual moms and dads to a generation who has been forgotten. We have to find ways to speak life to one another. The simple truth is that most people have never really had spiritual confirmations in the area of personal worth or promised destiny. It was a great day with so much brokenness in the alters. We also opened our new coffee shop and student center yesterday. God is truly moving and encouraging the hearts of His people.
My travel has been extensive this past month. I am not on the road again until late July at a district camp. Things are so busy here and I so glad to simply be undivided for a month or so.
Sounds like things are really busy for you in KC!!! We will have to catch up one of these days, but till then hope all is well. Say hey to the family for me!
